As a woman, I love cardigan sweaters (but I love them on men, too).
Cardigans are a versatile fashion choice for the fall and winter season.
You can wear them with:
- Regular jeans
- Skinny jeans
What are Cardigan Sweaters?
I used to think cardigan sweaters were one specific style. Turns out, “cardigan” is a catch-all term for sweaters that button, tie, or zip down the front. This is, of course, in contrast to sweaters that you need to pull over your head.
Although any sweater is usually a versatile fashion choice, cardigan sweaters are in a class by themselves. The primary reason is that you can layer them over turtlenecks, blouses, etc. This enables you to make many different fashion statements out of a single sweater.
Take a brown cardigan sweater, for instance. You can wear it over an emerald green blouse, a white turtleneck, and a blue tank top all in the same week and it looks like you have three different outfits. In truth, you’re only mixing and matching what goes beneath the cardigan. (If you’re like most women, you even love the creativity that goes with matching clothing to a cardigan sweater.)
Of course, the versatility of a cardigan allows you to save money on clothing because you don’t have to spend so much money on separate pieces.
How awesome is that?
I have several cardigan sweaters, in several different colors, all in my closet right now. How many cardigans do you own? What colors? Do you regret winter ending because you have to put away your cardigan sweaters?
